Balloon Care

Temperature & Balloons

Whether balloons are filled with helium or air, it is basically filling them with gas. Molecules are needed to fill the space of balloons and outside temperature affects these molecules. Helium expands in the heat and this could cause your balloons to burst! It is advisable to turn on your air conditioning in your vehicle when transporting balloons on a hot day. If your balloons get rained on and start to droop, not to worry, they will float again when dry. When helium-filled balloons are taken into the cold, they will temporarily deflate and will re-inflate again when placed indoors at room temperature.

Pets & Children

Uninflated or popped balloons can present a choking hazard and should never be left with children. Adult supervision is highly recommended. Store balloons away from pets to prevent ingestion of popped balloons and other materials such as confetti & feathers. Put away any broken balloons and it’s decorative contents (if applicable) as soon as possible.

Environment

When a balloon no longer has life, cut the end of the balloon with scissors to remove any air or balloon gas, then properly dispose it. NEVER release balloons into the environment - these all become litter. These can get caught up in trees & power lines.

Remember – Don’t Let Go, Pin It and Bin It.

Allergies

Balloons are biodegradable and are made of natural rubber latex which may cause allergies. Please look out for symptoms in case of a reaction and seek immediate help.

Helium & Inhalation

Inhaling helium can be extremely toxic. Do not inhale helium. It can deprive your body of oxygen and can result in fatality.

Surfaces & Other areas

Ceilings, paint textures, irregular surfaces, and even static can all cause balloons to pop. If you are planning on placing your balloons on these, please ensure that you test it first.

Oxidation

Clear balloons become cloudy instantly when exposed to heat and sunshine. Colored balloons will have a matte look.

Balloons POP!

While we use the highest quality balloons and take every precaution necessary  during set up or delivery, once the balloons leave our door or we have left the site, they are out of our control.
